Maine Health Literacy
Summer Institute: 1992-2013
For 22 years, the Health Literacy Summer Institute has offered the premier opportunity
to learn skills required for excellence in plain language communication. We hope and
trust that it has filled an important niche as the field of health literacy has developed.
Hundreds of Institute graduates now serve organizations across this country and
beyond.
Time brings change, and it's time for the Institute as it has been to take a final bow.
We thank all who have helped and supported the Institute, and all the participants we
have been privileged to learn from, teach, and coach. Special remembrance to Jane
Root, PhD, and Len and Ceci Doak, the 'grandparents' and pioneers of so much that
has happened in health literacy since they first published Teaching Patients With Low
Literacy Skills in 1986. Look where we have come! A MastersThesisWriting project is a monumental undertaking that requires meticulous preparation and devotion to the subject matter.
Institute faculty are still available to teach, coach, and consult with your organization. Go to https://www.essayhave.com/custom-writing.html to find out more.
